Jack Denham was born in Danville, Kentucky, to Ranny “Lee” Denham and Elizabeth “Wibbie” (Young). Shortly after, the family moved to Ludlow, KY, where Jack grew up alongside his younger sister, Vicki (Frakes), who now lives in Stanford, KY, with her husband, Tim. Both of Jack’s parents have passed away.
A graduate of Ludlow High School, Jack went on to attend Morehead State University before beginning a distinguished 32-year career in law enforcement. He first served eight years with the Ludlow Police Department, then spent 24 years as a Detective with the Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, retiring at the end of 1999.
Following his first retirement, Jack worked full-time in the Security Department at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY, where he had previously served part-time. Over 16 years, including three as a Shift Supervisor, he built a second career before retiring again in 2013.
Not one to stay idle, Jack joined Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home in Ludlow in 2016, where he continues to serve part-time, providing families with compassionate care.
Faith has always been central in Jack’s life. Since 1977, he and his late wife, Earlyne “Beaver” (Estep), have been dedicated members of Immanuel United Church of Christ. Jack served four terms on the Church Council, five years as an Elder, and led a Sunday School class, It’s All About the Music. Beaver also served on the Church Council.
Jack and Beaver shared 52 wonderful years of marriage until her passing on March 31, 2022. Together, they were blessed with a daughter, Randi, who recently returned to Northern Kentucky, and a granddaughter, Kyla Jane, who resides in New Hope, VA, where she is pursuing studies in Radiology.
Outside of work and church, Jack enjoys photography, music, and traveling when possible. He is also a proud member of Kenton County FOP Lodge #20 and Colonel Clay Masonic Lodge #159 F&A
